From the under-18 teams to the masters category, every Rarotonga team demonstrated their skill and determination, earning valuable points for their island.
In the U18 category, the men’s team secured a bronze medal, while the women’s team triumphed with a gold medal. The women’s gold was a significant achievement, showcasing the strength of Rarotonga’s young talent.
In the open division, the Rarotonga women’s team earned a silver medal, while the men’s team claimed gold in their division. The Masters mixed team also put on an impressive performance, winning silver.
This podium success not only highlights the athleticism and teamwork of Rarotonga’s players but also contributes crucial points toward the island’s overall standing in the Games.
Mere-Jean Piri, a gold medalist from the U18 women’s team, reflected on the challenging journey to victory. “It was hard; all teams came on strong. We had to work extremely hard for this gold and to make our island proud,” Piri said.
With top finishes across various divisions, Rarotonga has solidified its place as a leading contender in the 2024 Cook Islands Games, leaving a lasting impression on the tournament.
